Duvel is a Belgian Golden Ale (or maybe a Belgian Strong Pale Ale..we’re not sure) that’s surprisingly light given it’s 8.5% ABV. It’s refreshing, fruity, and it’s got a heck of a head. Delicious.

This week we return to Colorado with Odell Brewing Company’s St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale. It’s their summer seasonal that smells great, goes down easy, and yet leaves us ever so slightly disappointed that this beer doesn’t have more to it. This is one of those beers that you can picture yourself enjoying on the beach.

In honor of International Beer Day, which was yesterday, we indulge in a German beer for this week’s episode. The Hofbrau Dunkel is a Bavarian dark lager with pleasant hints of nuts and coffee and a hoppy finish. It’s a tad sweet, but never too overpowering. All in all, a hearty but still refreshing beer. Happy Beer Friday! This week we’re back with Avery’s Karma Ale, a Belgian Pale Ale that is quite different than any of the traditional American or Indian Pale Ale. It’s a smooth brew with a hint of fruit and a subtle hoppy finish. It’s very drinkable and we can easily see knocking back a few of these.

In honor of the hottest week of the year here in Denver, we try Deschutes summer seasonal Twilight Ale. Judging by how many times we say the word “delicious” I think this refreshing brew hit the spot.

This week, in honor of Owen’s birthday, we review Santa Fe Brewing Co.’s Chicken Killer barley wine ale. Hey, he wanted something random and that’s what we got. It’s a hefty, “intense” beer that’s great for special occasions, but probably not something you want to drink often. Cheers to Owen!

This week, thanks to a recommendation from viewer Brinstar, we review Czechvar — a classic budvar lager from the Czech Republic. Actually called Budweiser Budvar, it’s known as Czechvar here in the states, for obvious reasons. Shame though, it’s a much better beer than its American namesake.

The beer itself is a refreshing and pleasant lager that is a nice change of pace from the American beers we’ve been reviewing. Cheers!
